If you need to stop a website (i.e. make it unavailable to the internet), you can do so via your Cloud Control panel

  • Select Websites from the left side of the panel
  • Hit the red Stop button to the left of the website in question
  • Hit the green Start button to re-enable the site

For Windows (IIS) websites, you can also start/stop/recycle the application pool

  • Select Websites from the left side of the panel
  • Select Manage next for the website in question
  • Hit the Stop App Pool button under the General Settings tab (It will say Start App Pool if it has already been stopped)
  • You can also use the Recycle App Pool button to restart the service
