Adding a POP account to Android Mail Print

To set up Android for POP, do the following:

  • From the Home screen, tap the Application button.
  • Tap the Email icon.
  • If this is your first email account, you will be presented with an email setup screen. Tap the Next button. Otherwise, press the Menu button, tap Accounts, press the Menu button, and tap Add account.
  • Enter your entire email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com).
  • In the second box, enter the password associated with your email account.
  • Tap the Manual setup button.

  1. Tap the POP3 button.
  2. Enter the following information in the fields provided:
    1. Username—Enter your entire email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com).
    2. Password—Enter the password associated with your email account.
    3. POP server—Enter the mail server name for example : mail.mydomain.com
    4. Port—Enter the port number: 110
    5. Security type—Select NONE
    6. Tap the Next button. The device will connect to the internet and check your incoming settings.
  3. On the Outgoing server settings screen, enter the following information in the fields provided:
    1. SMTP server—Enter the mail server name for example : mail.yourdomain.com
    2. Port—Enter the port number: 25 or if your ISP blocks mail on port 25 you can try 2525 or 587
    3. Security type—Select None.
    4. 11. Tap the Require sign-in checkbox.
    5. 12. Tap the Next button. The device will connect to the internet and check your outgoing settings.
  4. On the Account options screen, make changes, as desired.
  5. Tap the Next button. On the Set up email screen, enter your name in the Your name field. This is the name that will be displayed in the From field of email messages you send.
  6. Tap the Done button.
